Women of Brooklyn ReImagine Local Politics

  • First Unitarian Congregational Society 119 Pierrepont Street Brooklyn, NY, 11201 United States (map)

It’s time for you to be heard.

We are excited to invite women-identifying progressives from across Brooklyn to join us on Sunday July 29 from 1-3pm for an inspiring conversation about the future of local politics. The event will be hosted by a coalition of organizations who are empowering and advocating for women’s voices at every level, including The Broad Room, WHARR, Women to the Front, Nylissa Whitaker, and Sunset Park Latino Democrats.

For too long, the Brooklyn Democratic Party has run on patronage, backroom deals, and a lack of transparency and accountability. Many Brooklyn neighborhoods and constituencies have been ignored by the party. We can’t let Washington politics distract us from the need for greater inclusion and participation in our own backyard.

We’ll talk about how we can work together to make sure our elected officials represent our values and our vision for the future, to strengthen our political representation by the Democratic Party.

Join us!

* Speak with other women in Brooklyn about the values you believe should guide your political officials
* Describe how you think we can collaborate to strengthen our community
* Learn how advocacy organizations in Brooklyn are standing up for women’s rights
